I have been a patient of Dr. Vavvas for many years now treating my early onset macula degeneration. Dr. Vavvas is a superb physician. He is an expert clinician who cares about his patients. He is a researcher known around the world. I am blest that Dr. Vavvas takes care of my eye condition.
Business response:
Your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot, thank you!
Dr. Vavvas is a very kind & compassionate doctor and has been treating me for over a year and a half for a severely detached retina & sub-macula swelling. When characteristic complications of vitrectomy presented he was exceptionally helpful with a referral to another specialist to prioritize treatment. He always takes time to answer questions and educate you as he would the many residents & fellows he mentors. Dr. Vavvas goes out of his way to help return you to "flight-worthy" status in the shortest, safest time possible. ... read more
Dr Vavvas is an outstanding doctor. I have been seeing Dr. Vavvas for about two years. You can trust his expertise and knowledge of all eye problems and he deeply cares for his patients. I have macular degeneration and AMD in one eye. He has treated the AMD aggressively and I am extremely grateful to be able to do all my normal activities without losing my vision thanks to Dr Vavvas. He has a very competent staff to work with him and every visit is a gift to be treated by Dr Vavvas and his staff.
I I have been seeing eye doctors for retina problems for about 35 years. Dr. Vavvas is one of the top ophthalmolgists and eye surgeons in the Boston area today.. He performed a vitrectomy and retinal reattachment on me and even though there were surprise complications, he was equipped to handle them and his work was flawless. Long waits can occur at any retina doctor"s office. It's a small price to pay for your eyesight.
Business response:
Steve Gabovitch, thank you for sharing your positive experience!
An absolutely superb doctor, however, his office makes no effort to make sure patients are seen at their schedule appointment time. A wait of 2 hours beyond your scheduled appointment time is not uncommon, and a wait of less than an hour is virtually unheard of.
Dr. Demetrios Vavvas, MD has a 4.9 star rating with 59 reviews.
