I came from out of state to have DBS surgery by Dr. VanSickle for essential tremors. Brain surgery was successful with no problems. Generator Surgery was harder recovery and I didn’t realize generators would be so physically obvious. Programming was perfect first time but requires an experienced programmer and experienced battery rep for ongoing support and reliability.
Dr Vansickle is the absolute best!! I had DBS for tremors and the result was nothing short of a miracle. Without it I wouldn’t have been able to perform the simplest tasks, it was 100% successful.
I had Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery for severe essential tremors and was 100% pleased with the results. No more hand and jaw tremors!
Dr VanSickle gave me back my life with DBS. I am doing all the activities I did for many years previous to the diagnosis of Parkinson's. I will be forever grateful for his skills and expertise in this area. Parkinson's patients need to know the Quality of life is in your hands. DBS is being done earlier in your diagnosis. I first met Dr VanSickle in late 2018. He was very informative and easy to talk to. In 2019 I agreed to have DBS (Digital Brain Stimulus) by Abbott Labs installed. My diagnosis was beginning Parkinsons/Essential Tremor. I must say he is a very talented surgeon and a leader in his field. When performing the surgery I was sleep so he could be more exact. I think Dr. VanSickle is a great doctor and surgeon and I am very lucky to have found him. I just had a surgery performed by him and have not had any problems at all. I feel comfortable recommending him to anyone that may need this type of service !!
It's been a year. I am forever thankful for Dr. Vansickle and follow-up.
I had a horrible experience with Dr. Vansickle. He treated me like I was the least important thing he had to do that day. he performed a pituitary resection on me and it failed. I understand that people make mistakes, but then he wouldn't even speak to me, i could only speak to his PA who kept telling me I was wrong. I couldn't possibly know what I was talking about!! I changed doctors after a $77000 failed surgery.
After reading the review about Patricia, Dr. Vansickle's PA I had to write this review. My wife had DBS installed by Dr. Vansickle in June of 2017. Patricia was very professional and did everything she could to make us feel supported. I have worked in hospitals the for last 50 years and I know what to expect. Patricia knew more about DBS than the doctor back in New York. Dr. Vansickle was also very professional and did a great job. Don't believe what on patient wrote.
