Dr. Lutton is a FANTASTIC physician & Diagnostician. He treats you like a human, spends time with you, actually makes sure you have any and all your questions answered before you leave and truly thinks before he jumps to a conclusion. I cannot recommend him more. He is kind, caring, insightful, resourceful and smart.
I was sent to him from another surgeon. I had reverse total shoulder replacement done by another surgeon and three months later it got infected then i was in and out of hospital for months then finally was sent to dr lutton and he removed the replacement shoulder and put on antibiotics for 6 months to get rid of the infection dr lutton sent me for a CT scan and then had a special shoulder made for me. Dr. Lutton is knowledgeable, reassuring, and lets you know everything well ahead of time. There was no doubt that I needed rotator cuff surgery and by following his advice before, during and after the surgery my recovery went exactly as expected, even a little ahead of time to get back to all activities. The surgery center is far better than going to a hospital. I never had surgery before and don't want it again but if needed I would go back to him without hesitation.
Dr Lutton took time to explain the entire replacement process so I understood every step - surgery, recovery and PT.
Dr. Lutton arthroscopically repaired my broken shoulder last Fall. He got my operation scheduled quickly and actually escorted me from the waiting room to the OR. Then, since a bed hadn’t been prepared, he cheerfully grabbed one and wheeled it into place—no big surgeon ego on display here! Dr. Lutton’s pre-procedure explanation was clear and he answered every question. My followup visits went similarly well, with clear recovery instructions and a solid physical therapy referral. Best of all, my range of motion is now great, ... read more
Dr. Lutton was very thorough in his explanation of what happened to my knee, and what needed to be done to resume an active lifestyle. I felt very comfortable with him and had complete confidence in his knowledge and know how. After surgery, he was great at following up and always available to answer any questions I had Pre and post surgery.
I would never go back to him. His assistant was going to send me for x-rays before I even saw him, because that's "what he prefers". I said i wanted to see him before before having x-rays. When I told him about severe shoulder pain extending all the way to my hand, he said "shoulders weren't meant to last" and then sent me for x-rays with no physical exam. He showed the results of only 3 of the 5 x-rays taken, never physically examined me. & recommended physical therapy.
Best doctor I know. He takes time explaining in details my condition and his treatment plan. And he shows that he cares. My shoulder replacement surgery has great results. I would recommend Dr. Lutton to anyone I know.
David Lutton is probably one of the best surgeons the DC area. He repaired an unimaginable shoulder disaster that William Sadlack left me with. If you need arthroscopic shoulder surgery, don't go anywhere else. I thank him form the bottom of my heart for his fine work.
