Dr.Monson has followed me for some years for a knee diagnosis that no physician in my hometown of Gainesville, Ga. could manage. He is knowledgeable, personable, and has taken very good care of me over the years. His staff is also friendly and helpful. He is a wonderful, one of a kind doctor and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
I have been under Dr. Monson's care since May 2015 and could not have found a more qualified, caring and compassionate doctor. He was always willing to spend whatever time he felt I needed to answer any questions I might have. He has always been forthright in his answers....saying what I needed to know even if not what what I wanted to hear. And I appreciated that. His love of medicine & and desire to take care of his patients has brought me to the road of recovery. Thank you Dr. Monson!
Dr. Monson was referred to me by the doctor who treated my sarcoma in 2004. My doctor was leaving GA and he felt Dr. Monson was the best. The first time I met him, I flatly stated "you have damn big shoes to fill, Dr. Cierney saved my life!" That was back in 2005 I believe. Dr. Monson has since more than filled the shoes by being the most kind, caring and compassionate doctor I have had the privilege to know. He is not just my doctor, but my friend and genuinely cares about me! SIMPLY THE BEST!
Dr. Monson is hands down the best doctor I have ever had, which I am especially thankful for considering the seriousness of my illness. He took all the time necessary with me and my family to explain what we were facing, present all options, leave no stone unturned...in the most compassionate and comforting way possible. Honest and precise. His staff was second to none. His surgical skills amazing. Dr. Monson saved my life. Literally and figuratively. I wish there were more like him.
In 2012, Dr. Monson was one of only two orthopedic surgeons in Ga. with experience in sacral chordoma treatment. I was diagnosed with a baseball sized sacral chordoma on my lower spine June, 2012. I was in excruciating pain and within two weeks he had assembled a dynamic surgical team and with his expertise and previous experience with chordoma surgery the journey began. After a successful surgical treatment, I have just had 5 year anniversary cancer free check up with Dr. Monson! He's the best!
He is a great doctor!! I'm a 17 year cancer survivor; I'm so blessed that I was referred to him. I know the great physician (GOD) healed me; but he gave Dr. Monson the knowledge to treat me. I can't even begin to tell you what are great doctor he is.
dr. monson saved me. It has been over 5 years and my cancer has not come back. Dr. Monson is my doctor because i was referred to MD anderson in houston. my wife, daughter and i flew to Houston. I did not like the huge "factory" atmosphere. Upon our return A friend highly recommended Dr. Monson. Dr monson outlined a difficult treatment plan. I have been honored to be treated by Dr. Monson. When I was in a dark place in my life, thinking I had a sarcoma, he relieved my anxiety with his knowledge, professional manner and warmness of his heart . The lump was in a complicated area to remove as it was wrapped around nerves. My doctor who was a surgeon himself, referred me to Dr. Monson with high regards and esteem for him. He performed a successful surgery with no nerve damage. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Monson as do his colleagues!
Two years ago, Dr. Monson was referred to me when I found out I had a growth on my humerus. He was patient and took all the time I needed to explain my type of cancer, discuss my treatment options, and explain the surgery I needed. He did an absolutely fantastic job reconstructing my shoulder and I look forward to seeing him for follow up visits. He is charming, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. He also look at your scans the same day so it's not multiple visits. Favorite doctor ever!
