I have a crohnic disease, and I am treated like a drug seeker by the ER every time I've been taken there. I thought, maybe it's how I look. Maybe since I need a high dose of pain medication. No. My best friend broke both his arms and leg. Because his insurance isn't great, after surgery they couldn't get him out the door fast enough. Maybe Swedish is good for trauma but avoid this place at all cost otherwise. I'd go to VRCC before I'd ever go back to Swedish. The care is insulting. I've been ill 14 years, every health care p... read more

I only withhold the last star mostly because of the checkout process. All hospitals take forever to get out of once they decide to let you go. Swedish could improve their process considerably. Telling the patient that they are going home early in the day without some form of expectation as to the time is just not great. Communicate the process and the time to family and the patient early in the day, but with a specific checkout time.

My husband has been on 9th floor mtu for 10days and has received excellent care. Everyone was attentive and caring. We travelled from another state for to see a specific surgeon and couldn't be happier with how things have been so far. All the negative reviews really scared me, I don't even feel like we could have been at the same hospital as the earlier reviews. Great job to the 9th floor mtu staff, thank you!

I was taken to Swedish -First Hill ER 3 weeks ago. The ER Doctor was soooo overworked he gave me horrible medical attention. I finally left very frustrated and still suffering from severe pain and bleeding internally. I suffered through the night and drove to Yakima Memorial Hospital the next morning. There I received the BEST care from their ER Doctor. I'm now back home in Bend, OR and finally feeling better after being diagnosed with and treated for diverticulitis and colitis. Swedish needs to examine their ER rooms and pr... read more
