Prior to my surgery I was in terrible back pain and unable to walk at times. This lasted for six (6) weeks. After consulting my primary doctor, he instructed me to make an appointment with Dr. Kanaly, which I did. After viewing my MRI, he told me surgery would be my best option. I followed his advise. Today I feel like I did when I was 25 years old (I just turned 80). You will not find a better Neurosurgeon anywhere.

Dr. Kanaly looked at my MRI and, after a short exam, he told me I needed surgery on my lower spine. I asked about physical therapy or cortisone shots and he told me they were not likely to be successful. I requested PT and 6-8 weeks later I was fine. I would prefer a neurosurgeon who starts with the least invasive (and dangerous) treatment first.

I have only good things to say about Dr Kanaly, he's an amazing surgeon. I have recommended him to family members and to friends. I am beyond pleased with the quality of care I recieved.

I went to see Kanaly after being in pain for 4 weeks. I had an MRI done with my primary. My primary had seen that I had some bulging discs and that I had annular tears in my disc. When I asked Kanaly some questions regarding my symptoms, he completely dismissed me and tried to make me feel stupid about the questions I was asking and my explanations about other symptoms and whether they were related. He never even discussed the annular tears. I was? told about the by the pain clinic?doc

I would not recommend Dr. Kanaly to anyone. My friend had a spinal fusion with him, developed an infection and couldn't get an appointment with the office. Her PCP had to send a photo of the infection to her PCP, who then had to send the picture to Dr. Kanaly. His compassion is non-exsistant.

Had an appointment on Thursday 3/2 after waiting 3 1/2 weeks to be seen. Arrived at 8:35AM for a 9:00 AM appointment. Completed the necessary paperwork and sat in room from 8:50 AM to 10:15 AM when I got up and requested my refund for the co-payment. Sad part is that the receptionist didn't even seem shocked to my request and said "I processed and you will not see the charge on your card". Tells me it must happen a lot. AVOID this overbooking office and visit another surgeon.

In May, 2016, My mother's year long stage 4 lung cancer metastasized to her C-7 spine. The tumor caused her unbearable pain. Dr. Kanaly did an 8 hour surgery for my mother removing extensive tumor surrounding C-7 vertebrae and implanted metal support for her neck. My mother's pain was gone when she woke up from the long surgery the same day. The surgery went perfect thanks to Dr. Kanaly's compassionate care and wonderful surgery skills. He saved her life literally. She is doing very well.

He is a wonderful and compassionate doctor. I highly recommend him. He took his time explaining the problem I was having and how it could be corrected. I didn't feel like he was rushing me to get out of his office. His physician 's assistant is also wonderful.
