Dr. Messina has excellent bedside manner. My 9 yr old son suffers from heel pain after playing baseball & Messina explained thoroughly what was going on & was super cool doing it. He made my son feel very comfortable. My 7 yr old daughter who just went to accompany us & is very weary of docs, liked him too. Both children commented about liking the dr. among themselves at home. I think there was a big wait because it was President's Day and all kids were out that day getting checked.
My husband and I have both been seeing Dr. Carlo Messina for several years now. We find that all of his colleagues and staff are the BEST. Dr. Messina takes his time to explain everything. He is very caring, friendly and professional. I highly recommend him.
I have been a patient for many years. Dr. Messina is pleasant, thorough, gentle, listens and explains your diagnosis in ways that a patient can understand. Many family members and friends have been seen by Dr. Messina over the years and have been as pleased as myself. I, personally, would not go anywhere else for my foot and ankle needs.
My son had a stress fracture that was treated by Dr Messina. His is very professional, caring and efficient. His office staff and tech work in the same manner. I highly recommend this office for you're orthopedic needs

Vacationing in Florida from NYC and fractured my left foot , South Florida Institute was highly recommended by friends of mine , who are NHL players . Dr Messina is extremely knowledgeable and his expertise in foot and ankle injuries are superb! He explains everything in detail and is very compassionate to his patients! I highly reccomend. Dr Messina!
Dr. Messina saw me for a fractured calcaneus- meaning I shattered my heel into several dozen pieces. I saw several doctors to make a decision on which one I would put my faith into for me to walk again. Dr. Messina explained what would happen throughout the several months we would be seeing each other about my heel. He was able to empathize with what I was going through and we found humor in what we could. The surgery worked- I have 11 screws and a plate and took my first steps this week.
Very personable and extremely knowledgeable.
