Both my daughters (4 and 2) had a visit with Dr G. She was so kind and kept them calm as they were nervous first time patients. She played games and explained everything she was doing. My 4yo needed glasses and patching and she put a care plan in place for her.

To be honest with you after reading these reviews I was wondering if we met the same doctor and staff . I went with a very active two year old and was met by a very realistic knowledgable and attentive staff.I’m not sure what kind of experience everyone was looking to get, it’s an eye institute not a therapy session .Thank you guys for being efficient, realistic, Expressive and attentive to my son even though he was screaming his lungs out at some point for no reason.

Told my 7 year old with severe anxiety he could go legally blind, he may not be able to drive or become a pilot Said over and over how bad his eyes were , and gave him the wrong prescription Horrible bed side manor zero compassion and is cold I own a business in commack and MANY have said the same

My experience was terrible. Initially, Sharon, a tech, commented, when my son had an innocent question about how to put on the glasses, “I know my job sweetie.” It was sarcastic and rude. I then wasn’t surprised by the aloof, cold doctor who spoke close to no words to my son or me only communicating by rolling her eyes when my son was trying to explain his answer to a question. They’re a PEDIATRIC practice where they seem to have no patience for children. So disappointed.

I am usually not one to write reviews, but I really felt the need to for Dr. Gerontis. Her bedside manners are atrocious. Truthfully, I don't know why she went into pediatrics, she has no way around children. Her arrogance is felt in her presence, and she is unable to explain conditions. Aside from her manners, the wait time is really ridiculous. With an appointment at 12:00, I was first called in at 12:47! Getting out of work is never easy, especially when it takes an hour longer than it should

Dr Gerontis was not very personal and not open to answering questions regarding non-surgical treatments.

we have been accustomed to rushed appointments while other patients are given adequate exam time. In today’s appointment you treated our daughter without care and without patience and you were rude. You physically showed that you were annoyed by Anabella. My daughter was simply asking questions but, you belittled her and at the same time you offended me. Anabella is only five years old and as far as I know most five year olds are curious and talkative.

It was such a sad day for us. The lack of compassion for our disabled children was the worst we have ever experienced. Dr. Gerontis couldn't have and didn't want to be bothered with us. She didn't so much as grimace throughout our visit. If you have a disabled child you couldn't be in worse hands or a more wrong place than her office. Her bedside matter was atrocious-probably the worst that we have ever experienced. Doctors in pediatrics are expected to treat the whole child!!!
