I have been Dr. Avery patient for more than two years. He performed surgery for broken humerus and is currently supervising my broken ribs situation. Dr. Avery is the best.
Patiently answered many questions at each visit pre- and post-op visit. There was good shared decision making to ensure patient preferences were met. Good bedside manner.
I have had knee injections for painful knees that was making it difficult to get up and down and sometimes to walk. The injections have helped me tremendously. Dr. Avery reviewed x-rays with me explaining everything. I think he is also a very kind, gentle person, as well as a competent physician, and I am glad to have him as my orthopedic MD. Thank you Dr.Avery for your kind help.

I went to see Dr. Avery for a sports injury to my shoulder. He truly listened to my description of the pain and symptoms, administered some tests, and made an diagnosis that ended up putting me on the path to recovery. His bedside manner is excellent as I'm one of those patients who does a lot of research and thus has a lot of questions -- all of which he was willing to answer. I have seen many orthopedic surgeons before, and I highly recommend Dr. Avery, especially for athletes!
The waiting room is crazy sometimes - and the wait can be long at the Tyson Corner office - But working with this doctor is worth the wait. Multiple surgeries. I will stay with this surgeon and use him and refer him to my closest loved ones
I was referred to Dr. Avery for hip replacement surgery. He did an exceptional job describing the procedure and managing the expectations with the recovery, while also emphasizing the importance with physical therapy. I would highly recommend him. The operation was a success. Dr. Avery cares about his patients and listens to their concerns.
Today was my first day with Dr. Avery. I had been looking for a doctor with good reviews and was so grateful Dr. Avery was close to me and available to provide care for me, I had a wonderful experience considering I was in sever pain and felt like I had not had proper care in the past. He truly was wonderful and he spent above and beyond the time I expected from him. He gave me hope and told me that he could help me and that I had options in my healthcare. Praise God for Dr. Avery.
Dr. Anthony Avery is an amazing physician and surgeon. I had a complex tibial plateau fracture which he operated on successfully. Even more impressive is his great listening and sharing information with patients. He actively advocated for me in the healthcare system stepping in a number of times to help figure out insurance issues, major pain, and emergency situations with a blood clot and high blood pressure. He also helped me with letters, documentation, He is what a doctor should be!! 5++++++
