I’ve known Dr. DeWitt since 2003 when he performed my Gastric Bypass. Over the years I’ve had the need for a general surgeon several times and he has done them all. I would not hesitate to use or recommend him. I have to wonder about the bad review that someone gave him because it was so bad that it looked fake. He lets his residents operate with minimal oversight. His outcomes are terrible, many patients wind up in the ICU for days or weeks. Go in healthy and end up having your stomach removed. He seems like a good guy who knows what he is doing but MUCH worse outcomes than the other surgeons. Stay away
Dr Dewitt is the best surgeon in the state of Alabama. He us genuinely concern about each patient. He is a people person that you can talk to him about anything.
