Would highly recommend Dr. Sharan had Anterior Cervical discectomy and fusion surgery 6/10/20 and doing great! I had C5-C6 & C6-C7 herniation’s, with pain and numbness in my left arm for over 10 years. Cortisone worked for a few years, anti-inflammatory & pain meds with PT with no relief. 3 yrs ago integrated approach, Chiro, Acupuncture and anti-inflammatory diet, finally relief with no meds. I am a former professional athlete who has always continued to condition my body after my retirement. Then I went to having severe pain and immobile on certain exercises. From the minute I met with Dr. Sharan and his staff I knew I was making the best choice in doing surgery. Instantly after the surgery was over the pain was gone. I am currently in physical therapy with no limitations. I would highly recommend Dr. Sharan.
Dr. Sharan was highly recommended by my primary care physician at Westmed. I was suffering from Sciatica, back pain and drop foot. After initial consultation I was scheduled for a laminectomy at the Dobbs Ferry Pavilion of St. John's Riverside. The staff at the hospital both professional and clerical were superb. Dr. Sharan operated with great skill and expertise relieving my symptoms. He explained the procedure and the post surgery recovery in a complete and succinct manor. Short and boring version of my story: Dr. Sharan and the awake spinal surgery gave me my life back after a laminectomy to solve my sciatica pain. I walked out of the hospital after surgery feeling better than I had in three months and finally able to walk upright again. Dr. Sharan's consultations emphasized educating me as a patient and I entered the operation theater at St. Johns Hospital, Dobbs Ferry feeling secure. My experience with the hospital and its staff was fantastic. I was discharged within 4 hours after completion of the surgery. dr. sharan operated on me may 2 2019 for a cyst on discs l -2 and l -3 and a laminectomy I checked it to st. johns in Dobbs Ferry ny at 630a.m. and an hour later I was rolled in to operating prep. Around 830 after numbing from the waist down I was operated on . then to recovery and by 2 00 p. m. I was suffering from what I thought was a pulled muscle problem. I decide to find out what was going on and went to the doctor. After test and MRI, I was diagnosed with compressed disc disorder. I went thur the different treatments recommended by my doctor. With no relief. I decided to have the surgery. on March 14, 2019 Dr. Sharan and his surgical team preformed the spinal surgery. Dr. Sharan performed Awake Spinal Fusion on me in January of this year. I was able to go,home the day of the surgery and I have had no pain at all since that time. Dr. Sharan worked with an outstanding group of nurses, anesthesiologists, and other doctors to give me the best care I have ever received! Dr. Sharan was professional, methodical, personable, and always available to answer all of my questions before and after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Sharan as a surgeon!
Dr. Sharan performed a Laminectomy on my lumbar. I would ABSOLUTELY DO THIS AGAIN. I am glad I met him. I highly recommend him and the Awake Sponal Procedure
