I was admitted to Allegheny General Hospital and was given little hope of recovery. My Family stayed constant and spoke with the Doctor many times. They say I am a miracle and I thank Dr. Yu and his staff for the excellent care!!
This man and his residents saved me from a lifetime spent in a wheelchair. I went from ER to the OR in a matter of hours. He cared so much about me. I owe him everything.
The team of Dr Yu and Dr Ku and many others saved my life from a brain anurism the size of a golf ball behind my left eye. They are straight shooters and not only get to the point they are very open about how they operate and it gave great comfort to my family. It's nice to work with doctors that make time for the family of the patient. With out there expertise and gentle crafty hand work I would not be writing this review today. Ihighly recommend them. Retracted everything he said to me on the phone (strongly recommended surgery to undo a botched laminectomy) when I traveled 2 1/2 hours to see him in person to discuss the surgery, instead recommended cortisone shots, not only dismissed the impressions of the radiologists who read the reports but stated he outright disagreed with them, left the room multiple times, was dismissive of my descriptions of symptoms and basically treated me like a whiny child -I'll do the surgery if you want to...
I have already recommended Dr. Yu to not only family, friends, and co-workers, but to other medical professionals. I cannot thank him enough for removing a very large brain tumor without compromising my cognitive or motor skills. He is not only a brilliant surgeon, but he has a very caring manner about himself. My family and I had complete trust in him from the moment we met him and that trust has continued to grow as we went down this path together.
