Wasn't awful, served it's purpose for our trip. Rooms were relatively clean but very outdated, the pool was closed completely even though it's pictured on advertising, the staff seemed nice enough (I only saw 2 employees the while time) probably wouldn't go back, but since we were only there for a short amount if time to sleep it was ok.
Had a choice of smoking room or wifi Its a work trip so we needed wifi. The wifi doesn't work, the shower dribbles on you, the room and elevator smells and the elevator was also scary too , the heater got put on high and temp all the way up, then we went to dinner for a few hours and came back and is the room is still cold, todays temp was 60s There was no wash rags. Towels are like sandpaper toilet does not flush. The shower has no temp control
Now that I am sitting in the relative comfort and safety of my own home, I feel as if I have recovered enough to write a review based on my experience at the Downtown Erie Hotel. The only positive about my half hour stay at this establishment, was that it taught me to ALWAYS read reviews and research a place before you give a sketchy sounding gentleman your credit card number over the phone. Can you give a 0!!! Mattress sags no hot water broken lamp no tisues bathroom dirty rude front desk pool closed FILTHY!!!
Absolutely sucks !!! Dirtiest hotel I ever walked into & immediately WALKED OUT!! Took a loss on $$, but if you have breathing problems....DO NOT STAY THEIR!!!!! I got another hotel.
The worst hotel I have ever seen in my life. We didn't even stay.... took a loss on the night just to get the hell out of there. The blankets were.CRUSTY and we looked at the mattress and it was filthy. There were cockroaches. There was no hot water and the place smelled terrible. I have never in my life walked out of a hotel before. I lost $100 on the night then had to pay at another hotel. Totally worth losing the money not to stay in that filth.
