So I left the comment in April (the one about pancreatitis and blood clots)which Dr. Garrow so kindly replied. Pretty bold of you to assume who your patient is without even knowing. You barely treated me for less than 6 months and I have never smoked a day in my life ever. You are in poor taste of your reply trying to piece together who the patient MIGHT BE. Instead of taking responsibility for your own actions. Considering I had an active bleed when I was referred to you in the hospital none the less. I have gone to 2 other... read more

At first he seemed very knowledgeable and eager to be my physician. After my problems have persisted he just lacked any love for being a dr anymore and it showed. My pancreas issues are still not solved they have worsened. Now I have blood clots in my arms and a slew of other issues. Wish it went back to the first time I met him. I am a patient who needed attention to fix my issue. When I was released I ended right back up in a different hospital having emergency surgery from the stent placement

Business response:

This patient is suffering from epigastric pain and bloating as a result of chronic pancreatitis. I worked with her for almost 2 years with her pancreas. During this time she continued to smoke cigarettes. This behavior continues to inflame and scar the pancreas. Finally she told me she had quit smoking for 30 days. She then underwent a pancreas stent procedure. After the procedure she reportedly resumed smoking which has led to a host of medical issues for her, now including blood clots.

My husband went to Dr. Garrow for a Endoscope. He spent alot of time with us explaining the treatment plan and goals. He is fantastic and also his office staff too.

He has lost his compassion for his patients.....he acted like he just did not care. Bayfront that he is associated with is a terrible place to be....and it is dirty!!!! I would never trust my health care to him again....he let me down and another doctor had to come to my rescue...shame on you Dr. Garrow.

Business response:

This patient was upset because I advised her that her gastrointestinal issues are due to her two pack-a-day smoking habit. In our practice we have found smoking limits the ability of patients to recover and heal. I have frank conversations with patients and their spouses regarding their behaviors of smoking and daily alcohol use. Many appreciate the commentary and reality provided. Their improved health afterwards is a testimony to my instruction. A few patients react in this manner.

Wait for a month for an apt. after you see them they dont return calls, I have had two visits since endoscopy and never solved the problems Ive been having. Its been 4 months and I am no better off. After endoscopy he told me what he found then when I went to his office it was an entirely different diagnosis. ???????? Not worth the wait

Business response:

As a solo practitioner with two office locations who sees patients myself in the office, it may take up to a month for a non-urgent new patient visit. Urgent issues are seen much sooner. At the end of each procedure, I identify what was seen in the examination and schedule an office follow-up visit. It is not unusual to have biopsies return which suggest a different diagnosis than the one presumed at the time of endoscopy. Unfortunately, not all illnesses are fixed in one or two visits.

Dr. Garrow would be a better auto mechanic then Dr. He preformed a colonoscopy on me and ran away, didn’t even stay around to explain the results. After bleeding and running a fever I called his office several times, never got a return call. Beware, find a real Dr.

Business response:

I speak to each and every patient and their family member (if desired) after each procedural examination. Sometimes patients may recall little or none of the conversation due to the anesthesia received. My cell phone is provided in case they have follow-up questions before their office visit. Although it may seem "mechanical" when a number of patients are scheduled for procedures on a given day, each examination is performed carefully with the appropriate time allotted to diagnose and treat.

I have been a Certified Gastrointestinal Registered Nurse (CGRN) since 1988. I have assisted GI physicians, surgeons, and pulmonologists in over 25,000 procedures. I have had the privilege to work with Dr. Garrow. I have chosen Dr. Garrow as my personal GI specialist for 2 reasons: 1. Dr. Garrow is a 21st-century educated and trained specialist, with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment capability. 2. Dr. Garrow is a genuinely good man who gives his complete devotion to his patients.

Makes promises he cannot keep. Grandiosity seems to be a problem for him. Professes to get everything right the first time, but doesn't.

Business response:

This review written by a husband of a patient who had a rare pancreatic condition found by me on my initial testing which was missed by several other providers and tests for over 1 year. Her overall health and condition have markedly improved in the 2 months since we first met her in the office in severe distress from her symptoms. We stand by our care with this patient and will reach out to the husband to discuss further where our communication may have broken down.
