Dr. Garrow was an excellent Dr. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly in October.
Dr. Garrow was the best! He would listen and provide appropriate medications and advice for GI diseases that were unique. Unfortunately, he passed away on Oct 7, 2020. I am going to miss him.
I have known Dr Garrow for 8 years. He has given me 2 colonoscopies. I went to see him for another one. We talked and agreed I didn't need anymore. I was surprised because I was ready to have one but I am 84 and did have some kidney problems after the last one. Dr Garrow kindly thanked me for following up and to call if I have any problems with my GI system, but that I did not need another colonoscopy. He is a kind and honest man. I recommend him highly.
Dr Garrow is a very compassionate & caring doctor. After suffering from a condition for 8 yrs that other gastroenterologists & doctors could not find a diagnosis for, I found Dr Garrow who immediately diagnosed my condition. He took the time to draw a picture & explain what he had found, and I never felt like he had to rush off to see his next patient. He is up on modern day medicine & also takes the time to make you think that you are his only patient. He cares & so does his wonderful staff!
My husband saw him last year with gastro problems, and he was very knowledgeable. When my husband became very sick, we asked for Dr. Garrow to step in at the hospital. He did an upper and lower GI series, and found a bleeding ulcer in my husband's stomach. It was repaired during the scoping. We had had a lot of problems (some because of COVID and being unable to be at the hospital with my husband) with Bayfront Port Charlotte not communicating with us. This doctor I met for the first time 3 months ago. I had abdominal trouble for 9 years. He listened to my story patiently alongside my husband. He showed me on a video screen in the office my problem which no other doctor had ever mentioned. Two weeks later he did a test to confirm it, then he fixed it. I have never been to a gastroenterologist that does't even palpate my abdomen even after hospitalization. He was following me in the hospital. Never saw him once in three days. His staff cost me $500 for a blood test due to miscoding. I was told at the office " oh this happens all time." I've been advised by two physicians not to go to him. I won't go.
Dr. Garrow is the best GI doctor I’ve been involved with, he is very good at diagnosing and explaining the condition. He fixed my wife’s pancreatic condition with his first attempt after others were unable to help. I also had a procedure done and he was great from start to finish. His office staff are also very pleasant and professional. We are very happy to have found him.
Worst GI ever. Doesn’t care about patients or their needs. Doesn’t return calls. Lacks responsibility toward patients and management if serious illness. Didn’t even do an exam during initial office visits. Didn’t even do a work up to determine a plan of care that would address a serious medical condition. Please do not see him if you want to live
