Our Business Goal To educate the general public on the historical geology of the Appalachian Mountains, how they were formed and what can be found here. Doc's Rocks Gem Mine is an Appalachian Mountain based gemstone mining operation. We purchase mine ore by the ton from local gemstone mines located in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. My son is thrilled to have a brand new rock collection. We shared a big bucket and left with nearly 5 pounds of great stones. Thank you for having inside mining!
My daughter's and I loved it. The staff was super friendly and knowledgable. My girls love the stones they had cut and set. We look forward to going again soon!
We can't come to Boone without going to Doc's Rocks...and lots of times we make special trips to Boone just for Doc's Rocks! We love finding gems, have many beautiful ones that have been cut, but we also love the warm, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. It's tons of fun, and educational too. As much for the adults as our teenage kids!
We stop here every time we go to the area! A "must see to appreciate" experience!
