Great value for the money Aside from Sunday brunch, this place is a good local, and affordable restaurant for a variety of tastes. Don't expect Cafe del Rey, but if you want pancakes, you're sure to be happy. Wish they had trashed that red white and blue color scheme, as after the fire, they could have gone really retro with some pastels. Oh well, I can always close my eyes. PROS: good value for the money CONS: the posts under the tables can really do a number on your shins!

Dinah's My grandmother loves Dinah's for breakfast. Whenever she is in town, we all meet for breakfast. My favorite is the waffle with strawberries, but the omelette's are great also.

Family restaurant Retro family diner has some good early bird deals. The menu has a large selection of items but go for the fried stuff: chicken, fish, fries. Great place to bring the kids

rather decent greasy spoon Whenever I go to LA my mom and I eat at Dinah's. They have a huge menu including breakfast 24/7 to their specialty of fried chicken. It isn't the healthiest food ever, but for gravy covered fried food it isn't too bad.

THis is an old fashioned joint for families and young adults. I tried the fried chicken meal and the apple pancake. The portions are extremely large and though I have to admit I was satisfied, I did feel overwhelmingly guilty after eating here. The food is incredibly greasy which is a bit of a turn off. If you're in the mood for a large meal for next to nothing and you have a few pounds to spare, check out this place.

Best fried chicken OK, not as good as my mom's .. but the best I've tasted in LA. The chicken is deep fried in some pressurizer, not on a stove top. So the chicken is moist but not greasy. Good cold or hot.

Cute Place I love this place. Cool retro atmosphere with some nice homestyle food. The service is great and prompt and the food selection is good as well. A good option for the area. Definitely would recommend.
