Dick's Drive-In is an iconic Seattle institution that's faithfully served the city the classic American combo of burger and fries since the 1950s. The Wallingford branch is the oldest and has been a neighborhood favorite since 1954. The take-away restaurant usually features long lines, though they move quite quickly. The retro ambiance and old-fashioned menu only add to the charm. Opt for a Dick's Deluxe Burger with a side of fries, washed down with a milkshake made the old-school way; be sure to leave your diet at home for ... read more

Best fries in town – Dick's has been a Seattle institution since before I was born. A Dick's deluxe, fries and a shake has to be one of my favorite guilty pleasures. The burgeres and shakes are good, but ,oh, those fries. Unlike a lot of the competition they are made with real potatoes, they aren't processed.
"Tradition" is ALL is has going – I hear all of my friends ranting about "Dicks", but when I corner them into specifics, about the only thing they actually have come up with is that they have great shakes. I agree, the shakes are really good. However, the hamburgers themselves are really nothing to rave about. To me, they are about the same as the A & W mama burger. PLUS they charge extra for everything including KETCHUP!!!! I find the place "old", which is why I think it is so popular.....days of reminiscing when "drive-in"... read more
A tradition! The best burgers around. I love Dick's for great burgers & wonderful shakes.
All I wanted was a cheeseburger with NO CATSUP! It was like I was asking for the Nobel Peace Prize. PAAALLLEEEZ! The service was horrible and the mush mouthed (on Broadway) burger server needed a dental hygienist! A burger mill would be embarrassed to know that DICK'S is associated as a resteraunteur!
open late, could be worse – well, a drunken stumble for some fast food is often nice a two or three am; and the parking lot always offers good people watching. I've heard that as a company Dick's treats its workers pretty good and pays them better than it's competitors so with that in mind it get my support.
Best fries? Surely you jest. – Ok, see Dick's okay. I've been living here about a year or so now, I've prolly eaten food from one Dick's or another at least a dozen times by now. If I've learned one thing, it's this: get a Special and a shake to go with your Deluxe, but skip the fries. I never thought I'd say this about a bag of fries, but the ones from Dick's are too greasy, even for me. They are all soggy and gross. Ew. The burgers and shakes, however, do not suck. The Queen Anne location, where you can order and sit down ... read more
Nostalgia – Really not very good. Cheap, fast and low quality. is what you get. But the locals have eaten here forever and feel nostalgic over the place. Think McDonalds
Cheap and not good – The place was bad, even for a cheap eat. The burger was soggy and was topped with a mayo/pickle mix. The fries were very soggy and greasy, and the sauce (plain ketchup) even costed some. Even for only a dollar, the burger was not worth it. Go get a 49 cent cheeseburger at McDonalds instead.
