Such an impressive place! Wish I had more time to explore.
It was everything I wanted and more. The energy, the beauty, the respect paid to the Native American tribes that hold this place sacred....I was thrilled and honored to be here.
Best monument!! I am in awe every time I go by. Anytime of day or night. Awesome.
Amazing! We took a nice easy walk around the mountain, and loads of pictures. The ranger in the gift shop was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would love to comeback someday.
Amazing monument! Had a very nice hike with amazing views. Very peaceful when we visited. Also, my son completed a booklet and got a Junior Ranger badge that was the highlight of his whole vacation.
The Devil's Tower leaves you feeling full of positive energy. The scenery, of course, is absolutely beautiful. Many photo ops from the paved path and observation areas. If you are close to Mt Rushmore or Crazy Horse, you are to close to miss this. If it's on your bucket list, pack your bags and go!!! Well worth it.
While the info about the native history was fascinating, I would have given this park 5 stars if they didn't justify keeping the white man's name of "Devil's Tower" just because "the name is popular". Our national monuments should show more respect for the sanctity and history that native people have with the land of this country. The Red Beds Walk and Tower Circle Walk were great and took about 3.5 hours for me to traverse (I'm pregnant).
The folks who work here were probably THE friendliest we'd run into on our National Parks vacation. They were even knowledgeable about other National Parks in the surrounding states which was awesome. It's a beautiful place, and the views from the trail were amazing, the wildlife was neat if you're not from the area, and the natural majesty the tower itself holds is hard to describe unless you're in it's physical presence. I can't wait to come back.
What an incredible National Landmark! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The park was clean and seemed to be well managed. The information boards were well done. It would be a bonus to have more information about how the area was significant to Native Americans.
Devils Tower National Monument has a 4.8 star rating with 1,532 reviews.
