My family arrived from out of town over the July 4 weekend and were really looking forward to a remarkable vegan meal. This was at the top of their list, of restaurants to visit in Detroit! A 1-star rating is the most generous I would be able to give D.V.S. I hope they will be able to refund all or a portion of this ridiculously priced dinner, poor service and bad food to them. My son & I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at DVS! I LOVE how they make vegan meals have all the flavor, texture, and, yes, soul of traditional soul food. They make good for you food taste great! BTW, the service was great and friendly. This restaurant is a Gem in Detroit!
There food is absolutely delicious .. l love to order this plate every time l go .. and they will let you try something that you are not sure how it will taste and that is GOOD customer service .. and everyone that l take there just falls in love with the delicious food that is served and the wonderful customer service .. they are very polite and each time l go there is a long line so the only thing that l don’t like is that they need a bigger place to seat more people but because the food is so good l will deal with this on... read more
Everytime I go to D.V.S I enjoy the food.
I’ve been vegan for a year now and this is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. I do believe that even non vegans would give this 5-stars! We were in Detroit and gave this a try. It’s in a really neat historic neighborhood. The server we had was really friendly and suggested some amazing big dishes. She was attentive and we could tell she loved her job. If we are ever in Detroit again, this will be the first place we come back to!
The omnivore said it was the best Mac and cheese she ever had. The vegan loved the peach cobbler and collards. Everything else was good, too.
It was fantastic and the food was excellent! Wonderful waitress and the restaurant is trendy but quaint!���
Good food and atmosphere, the smoothie I had was great.
