Awesome homes. Built strong, built well. Huge positives on modular today site.
Approx 17 years ago we purchased a Design Home. Their inferior construction has become very evident over the years. Electrical wiring without wire nuts. Fascia boards attached with long nails to keep them straight rather then cutting the truss or rafter to the proper size. I'm now removing carpet and trim only to find the door frames are being held in place with the trim. These are only a few but I'm sure as time goes on much more inferior construction will be evident. Buyer beware when dealing with this builder! They advertise the lowest price modular homes in the area. The reason for this is that it is the only builder in the area that does not contract for any other services. The buyer is responsible for clearing the lot, building the foundation, attaching the manufactured home to the foundation, building basement stairs, driveway, walkways, arranging for septic, gas and electric connections and painting the interior. Our sales staff explains customer responsibilities to all customers. They are also listed on our website, flyers, and all brochures. This customer chose to cancel and did receive a portion of a Non-refundable deposit.
DO NOT EVER BUY A HOME FROM DESIGN HOMES! You will regret it! We have had nothing but problems from the start. Our house was finished by them the first week of July and they just brought it a couple weeks ago. They had the finish crew on the schedule to finish our house on Tuesday then we call to tell them that we are having concrete done the same day and the guy already replaced us with someone else and says we maybe can get to you in 3 weeks... he said they didn’t have time to wait for us....which is funny because how long... read more
