I have been looking for a new salon since I moved to Seattle and had been very frustrated in my search until yesterday. The service and hair cut at the Derby Salon was the best hair cutting experience of my life. Paul Blakes was amazing. His technique and skill are amazing and his knowledge is vast. He was able to tell me things and advise about my own hair that I'd never realized or thought to try. I have bad anxiety and sometimes getting my hair cut can cause a panic attack. I saw Paul for the first time and was having some jitters, but he took it all in stride. He made me feel very comfortable and by the end of the appointment I felt like I had made a new friend. The haircut he gave me was exactly what I wanted. Nothing too drastic, but he still checked in with me periodically between chatting to make sure I knew how much he was taking off my hair and what he was doing. To be honest Derby is awesome as heck. Owners and staff are very inviting and chill, they always treat you like family no matter who you are. Love this place and all it stands for.

The service here is amazing Alison and her team are always friendly and courteous. I would recommend Dean or Paul for a haircut.
