Originally built in 1852, Degas House has been carefully restored down to the finest detail, in an effort to recreate the home in which Edgar Degas painted many of his finest works of art. This tribute to Degas affords guests a romantic intimacy and Creole elegance, while displaying the Crescent City through his eyes. There are a total of 60 works hung throughout the entire house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Degas House and the wedding we attended there this weekend. The staff were so good to us and the service was impeccable. I can’t praise them enough. Such a beautiful, warm, and inviting B&B. And the wedding ... SPECTACULAR! Beautifully done. Thank you Degas House for a lovely weekend!
Wonderful breakfast and a wonderful tour.
Degas House never disappoints! Our wedding here in 2017 was fairy-tale perfect. The staff accommodated our every wish in a custom package just for us. Several of our guests said it was the best wedding they ever attended. Come here for the old-world beauty and energy of this house, come for the tour, come for the courtyard, come for the world-class food by Ms. Sharon (no exaggeration), come here to tie the knot--or find any other excuse! You won't regret visiting this historic, offbeat gem in New Orleans.
awesome place for this event.
Absolutely the most charming and welcoming place to stay and visit. Pure New Orleans!
Don’t have front desk person 24 hours., we came passed the check in time.. so we had to get the keys out of the lock box..
It was amazing. Never been a history buff but I loved every minute of learning about Degas House. Got to meet so many people at breakfast including a man who was getting married later in the day. The wedding was beautifully done. Everything was perfect. Wonderful experience.
Beds was so comfy and clean, friendly staff. Awesome breakfast. They didn’t get us checked in on time but they made up for it with the friendliness👍🏾 I’d definitely stay again.
