Fresh locally sourced ingredients and a refreshing approach to Italian cooking separate this gem of an Italian restaurant from the others. Chef Paul Decarli uses his extensive experience gained at some of Portland's top-rated restaurants to craft a menu of Italian specialties out of the best of Northwest ingredients. The cooking draws varied inspirations and offers a good mix of classics as well as the chef's innovative takes. Wife Jana sets equally high standards of service at the restaurant. decarli sits in a historic buil... read more

Tried this place twice, it is getting better – I decided to review after I had a VERY disappointing first visit to Decarli, we tried one more time. I have learned my lesson about sitting in the bar area now. Don't do it. We had the same bartender both times and he seems overwhelmed just bringing drinks (waited 10 mins after ordering them). What?! You make the damn drinks, your bar customers should have the speediest drinks in the place! The food both times has taken a VERY long time, including the apps, (first time one HOUR!... read more
Bravo for Brunch! – By now it's clear that I'm not the only one that finds the restaurant selection in the Beaverton area quite limiting. So when it comes to brunch, until now, my choices were to go downtown or have my husband cook. Decarli has filled the void! Not only is it convenient, but once inside I am treated to a great atmosphere, great service, and one of the best brunches the greater Portland area has to offer. Where to start... sweet risotto. If you've had this before - 'nuf said. If not, order one for the table n... read more
Great Happy Hour-Can't wait for Brunch! – A friend and I enjoyed Happy Hour here last week and were very pleased with the restaurant! it is a great little neighborhood place with great food and great drinks. While we only had wine, we were both anxious to return another time to try the mixed drinks and even more importantly, the desert and after-dinner drink menu! The brunch menu also looks spectacular and with breakfast soon starting on Saturday too, I know this will soon become a popular hang out before hitting the Farmer'... read more
Best in Beaverton – I ate here with my spouse and a good friend about a month ago. The dining room is beautiful, it's hard to believe you are in the same space that was previously covered with 70's style paneling while still serving decent Thai food. I know Paul was happy to find the brick hiding underneath that stuff. They did a beautiful job with their remodel. As for the food...fantastic. We started with an order of the house fries and the oysters on the half shell. Fries were fantastic while the oysters left me a little ... read more
Inspired Italian food; comfortable welcoming atmosphere; great overall experience – Amazing space! Tall ceilings, exposed brick walls, creative lighting, beautiful bar and clean, open kitchen. Luckily, the food and service live up to the high expectations set by the space. I was there with my girlfriend, who is Italian by heritage and upbringing and a graduate of CIA in NYC. We were promptly greeted at the door and then at the bar where we enjoyed happy hour appetizers and then dinner. We started with the papatas with a spic... read more
So i came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. By the time we got our food it was cold and burnt! I was very dissapointed that at the end of dinner the birthday girl didnt get any kind of happy birthday from the staff. They seemed very cold and un friendly. When i first walked in the cook was piggin out on a big plate of pasta, right where the food is prepared. Very unproffesional. When he was done he went straight back to making food and didnt wash his hands. Can you say ECOLI??
Dont try it! When we first got there, there was one other couple there and they still made us wait 15 mins to sit and we had reservation!! After we were seated we were handed a clipboard with a paper menu on it with maybe 15 items to choose from. After ordering our food we got our salad first and it was terrible, how do you seriously make bad salad!?!? Than a hour later our entees finally came and the portions were ridiculously small especailly for the outrageous prices. Food was way too bland, and the prices were way to hig... read more
Good Service, Nice Atmosphere, and Great food! – I ate at Decarli tonight with my family (there were six of us and a baby). We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! The waitress was very nice, taking time to explain some of the more complex dishes and giving her personal recommendations. The appetizers were delicious and well portioned (we particularly loved the polenta fries with the gorgonzola butter ). Our entrees came out in a timely manner and were prepared well. The reviewer who gave this place one star and said the short ribs... read more
Who knew? Terrific, sophisticated Italian restaurant in old town Beaverton?? – My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal last night at Decarli. The service was welcoming, attentive without hovering, and cheerful. The food was great - perfectly al dente tagliatelli with lobster mushrooms, a beet salad with an unusual cumin dressing and yummy fried garbanzos, and imaginative and yummy bruschetta. The atmosphere is sophisticated enough for a very special evening, yet inviting and relaxed. We are frequent downtown diners as well as... read more
