We drive from Modesto. Each course has always been excellent. The service has always been above par. The price point for some could be a stumbling point but not if you visit every so often. Atmosphere is good and the place is quite and not cramped. Try the Mangy Moose for breakfast in Manteca you will go back again and again trust me on this one.

Visited De Vega Bros restaurant on a date. It was his first time there and my first time there at dinner. It was not good at all. His seafood was complete overcooked like rubber. I ordered pomodoro and the dish did not resemble what the menus stated at all. It was not good! The ceiling needed repair. It felt like the a/c wasnt working. First went to this restraunt when it was a little hole in the wall. They moved to a larger location, food and service were still great, but now this place is to small as well. This is a definite 5 star restraunt.
Went again recently with my husband & it was packed. We love to see local businesses thrive so we were happy to see that. I got the very flavorful salmon with ravioli & pesto that was bland & good clam chowder. He got the tri-tip & Greek chicken with a poor salad. Tri-tip was excellent but Greek chicken was flavorless. I went once. Had a steak dinner. This is a B resturant with an A price tag. Ive never been back since.
My husband and I took my brother here for his birthday dinner. I asked the waitress if they do anything for birthdays, she said only if we had four people, then the 4th meal would be free. We did not have four people in our party, so we could not even get a free dessert for my brother. For the prices you charge on your dinner menu, you could at least afford to give a free dessert. That was not cool at all!
I was at this establishment last night for the 2nd time and I think that it will be my last. The price does not match the quality and serving size of the food. The service, although friendly enough was lacking. I have never been to an Italian resturant where you were not offered or even had available pepper. I had to ask for it. Its frustrating to see such good reviews for this restaurant. I went twice, trying to give the benefit of the doubt. The service people barely cared that we were there (and they were NOT busy). My husband and I both disliked our selections. The marinara is ridiculous tasting. I was highly disappointed on both occasions. Way too spendy for what it is.
