Steve DiFillippo's Northern Italian Steakhouse in Center City is a crowd puller. The restaurant is located on the second floor on a historic Provident Bank Building and the sophisticated decor reflects the historic charm. The selection of seafood, meats, pastas and more are amazing. The lavish portions can be paired with one of their great wine choices. Service tends to get sluggish on crowded days but is otherwise upbeat and always friendly.

great wine list – food at davio's is ok and service is accetable, but the wine list and the wine guy there are GREAT. superb service and a great, affordable list. whish Philly had more places like this for wine!!!
Not bad for lunch – I have only been to Davio's for lunch, but it seemed like a nice place. Our service was good and the food was average. The restaurant itself is very pretty as well as the food presentation, but I wasn't completely wowed by the experience.
What a night! – The design, the food, the service (Roberto!) were all first class. First visit to Davio's, but not last, occured last night before a show at the Wilma. Veal Scallopine was out of this world! Go and enjoy!!
Great place for steak!! – This restaurant is in a very interesting location. The old Provident Trust building on 17th & Chestnut. The restaurant is on the Mezzanine which was used in its heyday as the location for Porvident's Trust customers to congregate, meet their Trust officers and generally be entertained by their "Trust" Bank. Now for the food - it is very good italian fare. Higly recommend it
Meaty Italian – Davios is a gorgeous restaurant. The food was good and the portions were big but the service as others mentioned was definatly cold. The wine list was very overpriced! Since I was the only one having wine I ordered by the glass. Not a good selection at all. The waiter was a bit chilly about not getting a bottle order also. Veal was very tender and the speghetti bolagnese was so thick with meat! Although it was good I think there might be better places for the money? Not truely dissappointed but just not overw... read more
Hidden Treasure! – Attention steak lovers! Are you underwhelmed by the plethora of corporate chain steakhouses you may have dined at in this city? I sure know I was. Luckily a friend told me about Davios. I live in the city, and passed that restaurant hundreds of times without realizing it was there. Superb! So next time your looking to dine on walnut street, do yourself a favor and take a slight detour to 17th and samson. You'll be glad you did:)
Great Steaks!! – Great lunch, friendly service. I would recommend Davio's Italian Steakhouse to all.
best italian steakhouse in us – i cant tell you enough how great this restaurant is. the steak is the best in philly. they also do a great job with the italian side of the menu. best of all is the service. i would put the service on par with the four seasons. they have great party rooms as well
Quite Poor.... – I had room service (I was staying @ Club Quarters). A pasta dish, it was horrible. The linguine arrvied tepid and bland. The salad was, ok... Very expensive, close to $30. I don't know about the steaks, but don't order the pasta.... Overall a weak experience.
