good memories destroyed – We had a party of 16 for a 85th birthday. Table was set when we arrived and server did a tremendous job. The food has lost it's quality and taste. The prices have been jacked up with nothing to show for the increase. The ala-carte salad was iceberg lettuce and not much else. Baked potatoes were made the day before. not even a sprinkling of parsley on the pasta as a garnish. The chicken lasagna had no chicken. I could go on but you get the picture. The bar looks beautifully remodeled, but the restroo... read more
Reputation is all that's left – As a 39 year resident of Shakopee I've seen this restaurant go through several changes. The current owner seems satisfied in simply trying to get by on their past good reputation. The service and food have both seen their quality spiral downwards. The owner has cut corners where they just should not be cut. The same is true of Panzanella's, also owned by the same person. There's simply nothing left on which to base a reccomendation for this restaurant. Sadly, the chains like Applebee's, Chili'... read more
Service? – The service at this place is terrible! We walked into the bar and they were short staffed, so there weren't any servers for the bar. We had to place our drink order at the bar and waited for about 25 minutes for a server to show up to get an appetizer. 3 different people either picked plates up or delivered food, which was not very good to our table. Cheese on the sandwich was similar to plastic and the chicken in the wrap sandwich is so dry it stuck in my throat - because we couldn't find our server, who accordin... read more
very nice service – This restaurant is very attractive upon entering. Seating was timely. Our server was very smiley and knowledgable, however, could not apologize enough for the long wait for the food (she almost seemed embarassed!). After she assured us this does not happen very often, our food was served to us, and it was delicious (I recommend the wallleye). The atmosphere seemed to be a bit hectic, but under control. I would recommend this restaurant to others, based on this dining experience.
Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had! – We were seated and waited 20 minutes until we notified the host that we had not seen a server. He then sent a server over, and he took our drink order three times. We also ordered appetizers at the same time, and they came and were eaten before the drinks arrived. I notified the manager that we were still waiting for our drinks (forty-five minutes later), and he informed us that he would take care of our drinks. The drinks came and we waited another twenty minutes bef... read more
Over - rated! – We had been looking forward to brunch at Dangerfield's - it is advertised as a "place to go". We found it to be a disappointment, except it has a comfortable atmosphere - warm decor. The brunch items were not regularly replenished (kept running out), the biscuits were hard as rocks, the butter at the bread table ran out and we never saw any more butter, food quality/taste was poor (except for the ham), and the wait staff was "swamped" so service was lacking (provided that was the reason).
Screened-in serenity overlooking the Minnesota River. – In Short Pass through the conservative, country club interior and pull up a chair outside on the screened-in patio. Shakopee folks and families flock to the restaurant, while a slightly younger crowd sticks to the two-level, pest-free deck. The quiet outdoor space provides a relaxing place to nibble an appetizer and sip something refreshing out of a jelly-jar mug. The extensive menu consists of straight-from-the-freezer bar food and a few meat-and-potatoes entrees.
Best Sunday buffet in town – We have enjoyed Dangerfields Sunday Buffet numerous times over the past year and have always found the service to be extraordinary. The food selections are to numerous to mention. My wife and I select a different restaurant in the twin cities every week for Sunday brunch and I must say Dangerfields in Shakopee is right up there with the best of them!
Don't Believe The Hype – Everyone says its great so we gave them a try. We ordered a N.Y. Stip- Medium Rare, tried their Chicken Scampi, and tried a soup and a house salad. We also had wine to start our meal, so we would think. When ordering our wine the server had NO IDEA about any of the wines and she just asked US if it was a red or white wine. When we got the soup it was cold and had to be reheated and the salad was very basic. 15 minutes after we finished our first course we finally recieved cold bland pasta and a well ... read more
