Dr.Rice Is "GREAT" when I went to my appointment I already knew I had Cancer, bladder, black, deep purple blood in urine at home, at late evening. We went to F.Fax hospital next day. After urine test,Told cancer..She was recommended.Dr. .apt. next day told me my oppositions, After she did exam, said cancer. I said I want it out, she said open tomorrow, I said, lets do it! I like a can do doctor, My husband looked up her background, New Dr. meet all standards. Best Med/University.In Remission!
First visit, hopeful. After a few visits, we saw what she was really like. Mostly, it was more appointments, tests, PT, etc. Never results, Monday, my wife called Dr in terrific pain. Dr. Rice basically blew her off and told her to go get a culture somewhere. Dr had seen my wife’s UTI when she was scoped 2 weeks ago but did nothing at all. So, I had to take her to the ER tonight where they saw way too many WBC’s, and they said they would send the report to Rice, but we decided to fire her. Grrr!
My vasectomy was completely pain free. Never too so much as a Tylenol. Didn't need to ice it. If you're concerned about having a woman do the surgery, get over it. Dr. Rice does a great job.
Love Dr. Rice! She is approachable, comforting and listens. I was impressed by her knowledge and ability to connect quickly. Highly recommend her.
Dr. Rice was the second urologist I saw after a not so stellar experience. She was a breath of fresh air in comparison. She reviewed all of my medical information and paid very close attention to my questions, history and concerns. She was very personable, friendly and helpful - as well as positive and supportive. She showed great care for me, my family and my well being, in addition to my health condition.
I felt that she already made up her mind as to what her plan was BEFORE listening to the entire history and I left the office feeling more confused than when I came in - very smug and sarcastic attitude! I felt like she did NOT take me or my long history of symptoms seriously. It appeared to me that she didn't know the etiology of my symptoms, as she kept saying it's irritation...I'm sure it's the STD...it's yeast. She tested me for STD when there's no chance of STD exposure! DO NOT GO TO HER!
Do not communicate on the need for surgery and tend to be over zealous in performing out patient surgery such as cystoscopy. Fail to discuss the necessity of the procedure or educate the patient on the procedure or its after effects and how to manage or handle the discomfort. Will usually schedule on Friday without explaining why!
Outstanding consultation. She listens to medical history, discusses and explains results of tests, and explains her diagnoses in a way that is easy to understand. Also, she answered other urology questions I had which were not related to the purpose of my visit.
The first visit with Dr Rice was fine. The 2nd visit was actually surgery. I was in a gown, had an IV in, been interviewed by anesthesia and Dr. Rice comes in. Her recollection of what we discussed was different from mine. At this point she got very angry and told me she was not going to operate on me and to get up and leave. She wanted me to go to Ge Washington Hosp. and see her mentor. Everyone in the room was in shock, especially me. She left the room multiple times. It was awful!!!
