Dr Guttman performed surgery on my left shoulder, repairing a torn rotator cuff & bicep tendon. He proved to be competent and patient, answering all my questions before and after the procedure. The recovery was difficult due to the extensive damage but Dr Guttman did such an excellent job repairing my shoulder that I fully recovered. It's important to note that the recovery plan included physical therapy care provided by Carl Dickson (also excellent). I highly recommend Dr Guttman and his staff.

I was not looking forward to a second surgery. But my problems with the shoulder were getting worse and the screws and plate holding the arm together failed. I am SO glad I went to Dr. Guttmann! He cleaned out scar tissue, cut the long bicep and replaced the plate and screws. It's been 6 months since surgery, and my range of motion and strength are better than they have been for the last four+ years! Pre and post op experience was great. He communicated well with my PT. He's great!

Dr. Guttmann repaired my bicep tendon. He takes as much time as necessary to evaluate and explain the injury, prognosis with or without surgery and the actual surgery. He does the surgery at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, NM, and the staff there also took all the time needed to answer my questions pre & post surgery. Dr. Guttmann communicates with my physical therapist about my progress. He has my highest recommendation.

I highly recommend Dr. Guttmann. I had to have a reverse shoulder replacement. He was so professional and explained the procedure to me. After the surgery, I have been in no pain. I had been told by so many people that this is a very painful recovery but as of today, I have had none. I was told by my P.T. that is is because I had an excellent surgeon. Thank you, Dr. Guttmann.

Dr Guttman diagnosed and performed surgery for n my torn rotator cuff and bicep tendon. The surgery was complicated by tissue degradation but I am well on the way to full recovery with excellent physical therapy. Throughout the entire process Dr Guttman made sure to explain the plan and encouraged questions from me. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Guttmann did a second rotator cuff repair for me. The original was 15 years ago. He not only was able to reconstruct my right shoulder, but it was an easy surgery and recovery has been remarkable. I am 10 weeks post-op and 62 years old. I fully expect to have complete use of my shoulder going forward for the rest of my life. This was minimally invasive, and I can't recommend Dr. Guttmann and his staff highly enough. He truly is a world-class surgeon. Well worth the trip to Taos.

Dr. Guttmann is, by far, one of the finest surgeons I've ever seen. He's very professional when out of the operating room and, I understand, quite the professional in the OR. He follows up with his patients and is truly THE best! The nurses at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos are exceptional as well. They know what Dr. Guttmann wants and they have such a respect for him. I'll definitely go back to him if the need occurs and I definitely recommend him to anyone needing shoulder surgery!

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Guttman. He is extremely well-versed in his area of expertise, he thoroughly explains everything prior to surgery, and is very considerate of the patient's well-being. After surgery, he personally follows up to check on recovery and subsequent visits are informative and perhaps, most importantly, he spends time with the patient--you never feel as though you are being rushed out the door. Thank you, Dr. Guttman. D.V.
