Kelley & Mitch Cook have a good thing going here at the Dakota Cafe. The husband-and-wife team started this business in order to spend more time with each other and it shows; their smooth synergy is felt by every customer and employee. Kelley's passion for cooking and experimenting in the kitchen has been a life-long love affair. For several years she taught as a culinary arts instructor for a vocational school that focused on teens who struggled in traditional high schools. The experience was tough but rewarding.

We normally drop in for lunch going to and from Seattle. One night we were able to have a gourmet dinner. Fantastic!
Kelly and Mitch created a delightful small menu for our Jazz weekend here in Ellensburg. Our meals (Halibut for spouse and Scallops for me) were over the top. We appreciate their attention to detail and down to earth approach to cafe atmosphere.

Had a graduation dinner there last night for 11 people. Superb!!! Analisse was our server and she took care of all 11 of us like we were her only concern - thank you A! The owner had called me earlier in the week and made a special cake for my son (the graduate). Absolutely sublime! Can't say enough, LOVE this restaurant!
