I recently got some cornrows done at the Western Blvd location by some students. You can tell that Grace really invests in her students as she coached them through every step and uses every scenario as a teaching moment of what to do, what not to do, and how to do it. The work was a very good and done very neatly. However some of the cornrows were a little heavy for me as I had some hair hanging down. I was able to call back and get an appointment to get some of the cornrows redone with less hair and there was going to be a ... read more
I am a cosmetologist in Carolina Beach, NC and recently took a tutoring class on African Braids with Grace. She taught me how to do box braids, micro braids, sengelese twist and cornrows braid over the course of three days. She was very professional, patient and kind with me. I would highly recommend her classes to everyone who wants to build upon their braiding skills. You are the best teacher and thank you so much Grace.
If you are interested in spending 11 hours getting your hair done and still leaving unsatisfied then by all means schedule an appointment here. This was my second time here so while I wasn't completely surprised by the hours spent, the unprofessionalism and complete disregard for the customer was surprising. After waiting 11 hours (arrived at 5pm, left at 4am) of my time and $145, I still had to have my roommate do major damage control to my sew-in (which I expressed whole-heartedly to the stylist/owner was for my 30th birth... read more
Worst business experience of my life!!! I have been to this business 3 times and the first two were fine and even encouraged me to recommend it to others. The most recent and definitely last was absolutely awful. When my friend and I arrived the owner Grace said we were late for our sew-ins. I scheduled for 5 she had us down as 4. So instead of simply telling us to reschedule she said she could do it but had another customer coming. The owner had a stylist(the only other working there) start on my friends hair while I sat wa... read more
Pleasantly surprised! You definitely get what you pay for. **** I don't normally wear braids or twists (love my creamy crack) but I was going to Jamaica for a week and I didn't want to do my hair everyday. The stylist, suggested kinky twists and I was not hearing it but glad I listened. Not only did I not have to be bothered with my hair for a week but I left it in for 8.5 weeks. I received SO many compliments from day 2 until I had them removed. I will definitely get them put in again this next summer.
I had a hint that this braiding experience was going to be different as soon as I spoke with Grace - personable, knowledgeable and patient - I had to call a few times 'cause I got lost :-) Things just got better from there: super professional, great energy in her shop, was able to braid (micro) my short hair, blew it out first so it wouldn't hurt as much, good parting technique so hair falls to frame my face perfectly. I could go on but you get the picture. I didn't price shop because I go for the experience & end result, no... read more
Grace is wonderful. I felt a peace about her during my consultation. I love, love my hair. She did a fantastic job. Grace chose the hair color which matched my skin tone perfectly. Although I was nervous about it she assured me that I would like it. She was right. She is knowledgeable and passionate about "hair". It is what she is called and anointed to do. I highly recommend Customer Come First. You will not be disappointed. There wasn't any pulling and I did not Have a headache afterwards. The hair is also very light. I es... read more
I definitely enjoyed my experience here. I got twists and my head was not super sore afterward, the twists did not feel heavy on my head, and it was done in a timely manner. Also the people were friendly and the environment was clean and relaxing. I also received many compliments on my twists :). So overall, I would definitely recommend CCFA Braids to others.
I was in a serious pinch just 3 weeks after getting my daughter's hair braided at another local braid shop. I realized late Saturday evening that I would have to get something done to her hair before school began on Monday, as her hair was an absolute mess! Grace actually met with us early, early Sunday Morning and did an excellent job with her hair. She not only knows how to style and braid, she also understands what it takes to maintain healthy hair. She was very personable and although we missed attending church, we did n... read more
