We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide "T" was not only good at telling the history but putting in a good joke here and there. Our daughter loved the idea of standing on a mountain inside of a mountain. We had a group of 16 but it didn't seem like a large group. Be ready for some cardio but so well worth it. We plan on going back. It's a true "hidden gem". The BBQ joint they recommended is worth it as well.
It was one of my first jobs when Roy had lease. I loved the history of both the Henshaw and Higginbotham caves that make Cumberland Caverns. They were just putting up chandler and making 10 acre room into a concert venue. I guess I was 15 or 16 maybe 14 I know it's along time ago. We guides used to go explore of night and time off we used carbide lights so yeah been awhile but absolutely love the kob.
Just went for the first time. It was the Big Smo concert to benefit the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. It was a rugged hike but so worth it. The scenery and caverns were beautiful! Can't wait to go back and take a tour of everything!! Maybe catch a few more concerts!!
