In 1984 Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craigs parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culvers in the familys beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin. In a sense it was destiny. The son of a cheesemaker and grandson of a Wisconsin farmer, George Culver spent the early part of his career inspecting and grading dairy farms for the Wisconsin Dairies Cooperative. While George was out calling on area dairy farms, Ruth Culver was home joyfully raising their three children, instilling in them the small-town, Midwest values... read more

I swore the last time I ate at Culver's would be my last time. I bought a peeler and decided to try it and again I swear I will not go back. Went thru the drive thru and the fries were nasty and cold. My cheeseburger was cold and burnt. Culver's had some of the best root beer, not this time tasted like root beer water. NEVER AGAIN!!
Been waiting over 30 minutes for my drive thru order, never again !
Busy place so if you want something fast this is not for you! Food is great though and worth the wait.
Found a hair in my sourdough burger, the manager said she'd get another one right out for me. That took 10 minutes or better and when it did come, the bread was greasy and looked like it had been rushed through the toaster/grill. Fries were OK but loaded with salt. Only thing that was decent was the concrete. I know we had several people in our party and it was pretty much in a rush period, but seriously, step your game up. Saw too many people either taking orders at the register or just standing around. Unacceptable, and I ... read more
they serve good food and ice cream is amazing and the people around this restorant is so friendly
Sat in drive thru for 10 minutes without moving forward. Pulled out of line and went inside instead. Stood in line a few minutes when I heard another customer ask if they would check on his food as he'd been waiting for it for 15 minutes. Yeah, my time is more valuable than that. Headed to the Frozen Custard by Columbian Park!
So sad.....we will not be back. It is clear that management has no idea how to run this establishment. Out of 5 visits we only managed to receive food 3 times. The other two we left because we waited so long. I saw a lot of folks expressing the same feelings.....service is slow, tables unclean, food prep poor. We used to dine here once a week, but we are done!
Good food but awful service. My daughter's milk and applesauce were half frozen when we received them. Asked for steak sauce with sandwich, it didn't come with our order. Was told they didn't have any when I went back up to counter. Manager comes off like he doesn't care if your satisfied with your service. Asks "what do you need" instead of "how can I help you". Last time we came here, he was covering the cash register for a worker and seemed really irritated he had to do it. Halfway through our order he sees the worker, te... read more
