In 1984 Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craigs parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culvers in the familys beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin. In a sense it was destiny. The son of a cheesemaker and grandson of a Wisconsin farmer, George Culver spent the early part of his career inspecting and grading dairy farms for the Wisconsin Dairies Cooperative. One of the best Culver's I've ever been to
Culver's, as a chain, is pricey for what you get, doesn't pay their staff well, so they tend to have high turnover, and seems to be needlessly "busy" with a half-empty dining room. THIS Culver's is the absolute worst I've ever experienced. They have gotten my, very simple, dessert order wrong the last three times I dared to stop. It's unreal... they correct the order after having to go back inside, but it doesn't correct the actual problem. Performance is a reflection of leadership. The leaders here are failing.
