We love eating at Crest Cafe in Hillcrest.....the food, service, and ambiance is outstanding. Not to mention the deserts and ice cream. A great community restaurant with quality, attitude, and just pure joy.

Food good, service awful. When a guest says "thank you", it's not hard to say "you're welcome" to them.
Pretty simple- I ordered bacon and eggs over easy. I got burnt bacon where the 3 strips were fried into one and undercooked eggs. I could not have ordered a simpler dish- just awful! My daughter who lives in San Diego had never eaten there and read negative reviews tried to talk me out of it but I wanted to give it a shot. I guess I should have listened to her!
