Fun place. Vey causual. Fried food is light if you like fried.

We ate at The Crab Pot on the last day before they closed for the season, mainly because my husband wanted a grouper sandwich which has been nearly impossible to find on the island in recent years. The sandwich was ok, ordered it grilled but will get it blackened next time. The zucchini fries were piping hot and awesome, The server was very attentive as it wasn't busy at an off-hour; she went the extra mile to provide a step stool for my mom who had difficulty climbing up in the tall booth.
Service was good. Flounder,shrimp,onion rings cooked really well. Hushpuppies were burned. Beer was cold! Didn't mind eating from a plastic tray but would have liked real silverware. Will go again.
Had the crab cake sandwich the waitress said they were home made but they weren't the way I make them in my home they had a lot of fillers and I didn't actually see any crab. The slaw was shredded cabbage and vinegar not good at all. The only thing really good were the French fries which I didn't need but ate as they were the best thing I ate there. Won't be going back...
We loved the shrimps and the crablegs. It was so natural. The clam chowder was pretty good too, had lots of clams!! To our surprise we had even life music. Cool decoration. We would go back....;)
Fantastic place! Great food and service! Our third time eating there. Cannot wait to vacation in Surf City next year to eat there again!!
