This property is destroying the brand. The room rate was over $300 and smells of sewer gases, the tub was chipped and didn’t drain properly and the hotel staff didn’t care about it. The restaurant was closed because they had no cook and a cup of four hours old coffee was $5. We checked out after one night and moved to the Gateway Hotel which remains a marquee property.

We had at least 10 rooms between all of us for a wedding. The breakfast was pay only and minimal; the bar was not open ("no kegs to hook up"; the staff was minimal. Good hotel only if you want to have a room to stay in. We only got one regular coffee in our room and had to hunt for the maid to get another; just not up to Marriott reputation. First time I've stayed in a Marriott hotel that didn't have complimentary coffee in lobby! Everything was extra pay!
My favorite place to stay in Ames. Super nice and modern rooms, very clean. Fitness center was extremely nice and large with lots of equipment that actually works. Staff is very friendly and deals with any issues quickly and professionally.
