I am a new patient in the process of getting some implants and every appointment so far has been a breath of fresh air filled with nice, smart people who don't use the time to shame you about your past dental habits, but rather make a plan moving forward to correct and maintain your smile.
I was disappointed that Dr Imm would rather treat the symptoms of TMJ with an appliance then addressing the root cause, muscle tension in my jaw. With the appliance I still grind my teeth, they are just protected from damage. I still wake up with a sore jaw and a headache. With a muscle relaxer I don't grind my teeth and have no tension in my jaw or have a headache. Other dentist I have spoke to tell me a muscle relaxer is a common approach to this problem.
