This place tells you one thing then adds more to it when you come to get the service done. We prepaid for work on a bike and when we came in to get the work done they charged more money then what was prepaid. I guess thats how they get you so if your smart take your bike elsewhere cause he knew what needed to be done when we prepaid but when the time came to do the work of course it was more money then what he figured. I guess the price of labor went up in just 9 days. Very dissatisfied with them.
Off my beaten track, but these folks were gre2st when they worked at rapid cycle in Bucktown, and they went above and beyond when they obtained training wheels for my older friend who had back problems and balance issues but wanted to get out on a bike again. Chris found wheels that are sturdy and tested them himself before installing them. Also guaranteed to take them back if they don't work. They even kept the shop open late to accommodate us. I can't say enough good things about them.

Chris, Pete and the team were fantastic. Cosmic bikes gets Five stars!! So knowledgeable about all three of the different bikes that we had ... Chris helped with what would work what wouldn't work what would be the best option ... no pressure and what would cost us the least to get us on the road and riding safely. A great family business you can tell they all love bikes.
I visited Cosmic bikes for the first time on Sunday, June 26. I felt at home there because I've been going to Rapid Transit for many years. I feel safe purchasing a bike there and getting repairs. Nick is an excellent mechanic. They have a wide selection of helmets. Chris and Justyna know all there is to know about bikes and accessories. The shop is spacious and has a clean rest room. Suzy Schnauzer was accommodated with a bowl of water and a walk outside.
I needed a tune-up for my KHS workhorse (commuter bike). Chris gave me a good description of its condition and let me know exactly what I needed. The price is affordable and his expertise is second to none. As the former owner of Rapid Transit (Wicker Park and University Village-UIC area), Chris is the go-to-guy for my repairs. I stopped into Cosmic Bikes today. The owners, Chris and Justyna, were low pressure and knowledgeable, and best of all understanding of the type of cyclist I am and my needs when it comes to my bike. They answered all my questions and were just wonderful. Not only did they introduce me to my new bike love, but they offered me the custom features that take the bike from great to perfect.
