After four years of planning and construction, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant opened in 2005 in Orland Park, a south suburb of Chicago. The concept was unique. We would create a signature menu with a selection of dishes designed to pair perfectly with our own Cooper’s Hawk wines, made in our own private winery. We did the December wine tasting menu. It was pretty good. I especially loved the warm Christmas red that was in the crock pot. Delish!
2 hour wait to dine in. No problem. Seated at 8. Water at 815 and ordered. 845 a cold plate of salmon is brought to the table. Sends back food and leaves...
Seated close to reservation time. Then things were so slow that I started noting times on my napkin. Took 40 minutes to take our food order. Two trips to get drinks. Appetizer wasn't out after 45 minutes (ordered during first contact with waitress ) so it was comped. One waitress for 40 people. Management started to help later on in the visit.
The food was very good, but the service was a little slow and we had to ask for our drinks which came well after our appetizers. Take that away, we had a wonderful experience.
