I switched from a reverse flow stick burning smoker to the FEC120 after my boys enlisted in the Marines and were unavailable to help my wife and I do our catering. I wanted to "set and forget" so to say, especially as far as fire tending. It only took me a few cooks and a couple of tweaks to my rubs to get the same (arguably better) quality product off of the FEC. l have the fec120 and it is flawless nice offset design
i have two FEC 100 since they first came out. only upgraded to IQ controller. they never fail. work as well now as first day. customer service is always excellent. Highly recommend
I do not recommend the PG500. Big $$$ misstate. I'm sure they have other products that are good.

My little cook shack smoker is 38 years old this year. Mark Ellis gave it to us for Christmas many years ago. It has had a few repairs though the years. But it is used every week. I can not imagine the pounds of meat that has went though it. Always comes out wonderful.
