We do not recommend Cooke Realty at all. Our OIB beach week got cancelled because of Hurricane Isasias (August, 2020). Obviously nobody can control mother nature, however you can control how you treat customers. We spent hard earned money on our beach rental and we lost EVERY SINGLE PENNY. The contract we signed clearly stated a refund would be given if there was a mandatory evacuation directed by local or states authorities, which was the case with Isasias. If I could give negative stars I would.. Due to hurricane Isaias we were told that Ocean Isle would be evacuated during the dates we booked for our vacation. We were in constant communication with this realty company throughout the hurricane and we were left with 3 options: get a full refund for our vacation, re-book at a later date, or get a pro-rated refund for the dates we missed if we decided to visit after the evacuation was lifted. Be a little more empathetic when problems occur in a rental house and communicate with renters in a timely manner - so they don't have to constantly reach out to you for answers.

A huge rip-off. Booked a cottage for three days on September 14th for $750 and when I arrived I found a dilapidated, old cottage not suitable for renting. Paint was worn on the front stairs and on chairs on front porch. Back stairs looked unsafe and very old. Flooring from front door to kitchen felt like I was walking on bubble wrap. The whole place looked and smelled old and possibly moldy. I would definitely reconsider using this company to rent any vacation home in Ocean Isle Beach. While it is my understanding that the furnishings are up to the property owner, it is Cooke's responsibility to portray that property adequately in its advertising. The pictures used on the website appear to have been taken when everything was brand new and beautiful. Wear and tear has certainly taken its toll on the property. My biggest complaint was the filth.
