I love Dr. Mark and the whole staff, including Dr Joe. Have had a great experience. He has helped me function much better and has always made me feel OK with needing medication or interventions, unlike some practices. They are kind and compassionate and I recommend them highly!
I started going to Dr. Matsunaga after I had a failed back surgery. I still had nerve pain going down my left leg. I could barely walk on some days. I spent nearly a yearly going to doctors trying to find out why I still had nerve pain and trying to find a way to make life manageable. I had another Dr. recommend Dr. Matsunaga. Finally, someone that would listen to me and cared! He wanted me to get back to a normal and active life as much as I did.
Dr. Matsunaga has excellent rapport with patients and has managed to extend that quality to his personnel. He ensures an understanding of a condition by thorough explanation of symptoms, treatment and management options available. He utilizes all tools to manage pain not just drugs. He is a caring, ultimate healthcare provider.
Easily frustrated when you don't comply with his ideas, despite the advice given for care from surgeons and other doctors, thereby belittling you.
He did epidural steroid injection for my back pain however when he injected, There was so much pain with resistant which he should stop the injection , back pain was so severe I was screamed to stop it, but he was not listening, after the injection I couldn't walk and think clearly because having headache and feels like has cloud in my head, almost like stroke symptoms for a 2weeks. when I talk to about it he was only saying that why didn't you go to ER ? He is a terrible physician
Top notch care and bedside manner.
Dr Matsunaga treated my 94 yr old dad eho has spinal stenosis. The cortisone shots made a big difference in dads quality of life, improved posture and interest in activity. From a geriatric standpoint Dr Matsunaga gave me pros and cons to all my questions regarding pain management options for my dad and together we figured out what dad responded to best while not resulting in lethargy. I trust Dr Matsunaga to treat dads current and any future pain management
