Public four-year institution tuition has gone up 213% between 1987 and 2017. At the same time the universities have all exploded in capital building projects. I wonder why the cost of a college education is so out of control????
My son attends @ColoradoStateU where I pay out-of-state tuition & $300+ for a parking pass. Due to recent snow storm, my son has decided not to drive the car in the snow so it was parked there during said snow storm. Apparently at this University, meter maids will ticket you for *NOT* driving in the snow. So much for advocating campus safety. I thought the point of me paying for this pass was to avoid tickets. I was an older student, in my 40's, graduated in May 2001, 6 mos before my 50th birthday, and I had a blast! Beautiful campus, THE most wonderful Professors in the SW program, great tomato rice soup at the Green Pepper, our demonstration against tuition increases...my good memories go on.
My daughter has been accepted to Colorado State, and is awaiting on the decision on her honors college application.
I apologize for this lengthy post but I just have to share. I received the following in an email from Colorado State University, my daughter is a sophomore here. We were just there for graduation and it was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! It's a beautiful campus, friendly people everywhere, easy to get around. Our daughter had an amazing two years there and is proud to call CSU her Alma Mater!!
I was at CSU on 12/15/17 and 12/16/17 for graduation brunch and graduation ceremony respectively. I do love the gorgeous environment, the people are very nice and there are lots of beautiful places that one could visit for fun.
Beautiful walkable campus. My husband is getting an MS in IT Management online and we happened to be in Estes for vacation. We took the beautiful hour drive to walk campus and thought the campus was easy to navigate, beautiful stadium, people were friendly and the bookstore had stuff for everyone. We enjoyed our experience and agreed it would be a nice place to live and get an undergrad degree.
