Proud Cherokee that is even prouder that I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado! At least there I was only looked down upon for being a veteran rather than being a true Native.

This recent incident involving the college tour is So disappointing and frustrating.
It is in your best interest to NOT accept the child of the family that called law enforcement on two Native teenagers. Those people are fearful and alarmists. As well as racist. I hope you see fit to offer some payment to these young men for the humiliation caused on your campus.

Prospective Native American students drive 7 hours to attend a campus tour. 'Concerned' parent on same tour feels 'unsafe' because they are too quiet, and calls campus police to question them. Campus police comply under guise of 'security' and remove them from the tour, but determine they are safe. Student tour guide does not notice police presence and moves the tour on. Native American students miss tour. Perfect example of systemic racism.
