While the knee replacement I had went very well and Dr Miner did a great job, the bill I got was $4000 dollars more than I was expecting. Turns out my insurance (BCBS federal) only pays 70% of the cost of the artificial knee itself. It would have been very much appreciated if they had given me a heads up on that. They'd probably say they can't know what the insurance covers, but they do lots of joint replacements and mine is one of the biggest providers, so they knew. Words cannot adequately describe just how wonderful Dr. Miner is. From his incredible skill and experience to his unmatched bedside manner, he is the best of the best. I also received care from his PA Kate, who is also incredible and truly listens to her patients. Both she and Dr. Miner make me feel like I matter, and I feel so safe in their care. I never had an appointment here. I called in today to see about scheduling an appointment. They did not receive my doctor's referral. Not an issue, I can call my doctor and have them send it over. I am in my 40's. The receptionist on the phone said you're a little young to come here. Then the representative started asking me a million questions because of my age.
