Dr. Bell is a refreshing throwback to how I remembermy doctors growing up. Accessible, compassionate, respectful and pro active. I dont know who questioned his mannerisms, but I could care less about that and more about his knowledge and capabilities. I have not seen him in 5 years but needed a GI physician while on vacation. He answered his personal phone and took care of me in a matter of minutes. Young doctors if any specialty would do well to shadow him. Thank you Dr. Bell.
I was 900 miles from home and had some gastro problems. Dr. Bell not only fit me in his busy schedule.....he ordered a colonoscopy and got me well enough to go back home. He's the man....I just wish he would move his practice to my area! Love this Doctor.....(Thanks Dr. Bell)
He's straight forward, seemed friendly, casual, interested. Unfortunately, he lost me when his commentary went from friendly & knowledgeable, to a poor attempt at being funny regarding the process of a colonoscopy. Humiliating commentary didn't help the with fear.

There are three kinds of people. Those who create humor, those who appreciate humor and those with little or no sense of humor. It may be true that I have a hard time guessing which of those three a patient will be. Your comments will not deter my effort to lighten a situation with humor if I feel it appropriate. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
After suffering with lymphocytic colitis for 5 months (diagnosed by a different doctor) I was referred to Dr. Bell by my primary care physician. Following a review of my symptoms, diagnostic records and general health Dr. Bell quickly identified a prescription treatment which immediately relieved my symptoms. His explanations and instructions were clear and his follow-up notes thorough. His office operates efficiently and so far my appointments have occurred on time.
Dr. Bell, is a hard working doctor, who really takes care of his patients. Recommend highly!!
Dr. Bell reacted immediately to high liver enzymes and symptoms with an appointment, a scan the next day and endoscopy the third day. He inserted a stent relieving a blocked bile duct and did a biopsy on abnormal cells. He called on the weekend to check up. Dr. Bell made a referral to a specialist at MUSC for endoscopy with ultrasound and was correct, a hidden tumor was removed with the specialized equipment. He was concerned, efficient, compassionate and correct in his diagnosis and resolution.
i went to see dr bell for what i thought was a gastro problem. he told me that i probably had ovarian cancer and got me in to see a gyn oncologist the following monday! i had surgery the following week. he called me when i was in the hospital to see how i was doing. i've also seen him since them for other gi issues and he is always thorough and spends time listening. he is very direct and doesnt sugar coat anything. i'm so thankful to be a patient of his.
Dr, Bell is very knowledgeable and personable. I really like this Doctor.
He has a horrible bedside manner and didn't seem to give one ounce of concern towards my illness or well being. When he couldn't figure out a diagnosis he claimed my illness was in my head when I had obvious symptoms.
