The workers did solid work. The job took twice as long as the owner had promised and he tried to add a charge on after the price was set and contract signed. He claimed that one step of the process (replacing extensively damaged subfloor) was not part of his offer. Yet when he came for estimate I showed him damage and hole through to basement. How he thought he could put hardwood over such a damaged subfloor w/o replacing it is troubling. Workers claimed he had not told them about subfloor and had to stop work to go get supp... read more
Business response:
This was a very good customer. I inspected the sub floor from the basement and the hole that was mentioned was the water feed line. My son T J tore up the damaged hardwood to find that the water damaged the top of the sub floor and was best to replace it. We did not include the sub floor repair in the contract. You can't tell if the sub floor is damaged in this sense until you tear the hardwood up to see. Because of the unexpected repairs, it took one extra day and the hardwood needed a little more sanding to make it ri... read more
Fair pricing, courteous, showed up on time. Did job as promised and protected furnishings stored outside and in while job being done. I used them for repair and refinish of hardwood floors.
They are nice people and the young man did need to do some extra prep due to a problem with the flooring which I appreciate, but you can still see the streaks from the polyurethane and they didn't follow the grain of the wood in a lot of the places so it's still pretty obvious. When I called to question the work, they did offer to come and check it out/fix it if I really was "unhappy" but that would entail another day off from work which I couldn't do and I figured it would mean sanding the finish again, a mess I didn't want... read more
TJ, the son, did a first-class job installing my tile backsplash. He was very professional and courteous. The backsplash looks fantastic. The project was delayed a few days, however Mr. Coale was diligent to notify me. Bottom line, I am happy with the finished project and would use their services again.
Got my floors and stairs refinished by Walts son TJ from Coale and Sons. The project took 10 days from start to finish with the majority of the time spent sanding the ornate details on the stairs. I was very impressed with TJ's work ethic as he arrived on time everyday and would not stop sanding until all previous stain was removed. Near the end of the project TJ noticed spots appearing on the stair treads while applying stain and took the extra time to re-sand everything to ensure a flawless finish. We have been loving our ... read more
Very easy to work with, more than Happy with the process, timeframe, cost and the end result. Don't go to the big box stores call Coale and Son. Demoed existing ceramic tile floor, carpet and installed engineered wood flooring in kitchen and dining area.
Work was done extremely well. Very satisfied with the time to accomplish and the finished product.
Mark is awesome, great quality & value, a real pro!
Very professional, excellent workmanship, They also did a nice job on the wainscoting in our dining room. I would hire them for future projects.
