It's not the hospital that sends you home too soon, it's the get rich insurance companies. They make the hospitals do it. I had heart valve surgery several years back, sent me home with too much fluid in lungs because the ins. said my stay was up, well 1 week later, was back ,almost died and stayed another month, so that was a laugh on the insurance company.
I am extremely disappointed with this organization and its policy around parents being with their children for PFT testing. We drove from Hickory to have a procedure done that we could have had done at our local hospital and were told my the pulmonologist as well as his staff that we would be able to join our 6 year old for his PFT. I AM A NURSE AND FULLY UNDERSTAND HIPPA, however my son is 6 and a minor and was terrified. He was told and made to understand that I would be with him for comfort. I must say... I had a wonderful stay with CHS Main in their labor and delivery department. They took GREAT care of the baby and Me! My room was great and they went over and beyond. I'm sending special Thank you's to the doctors nurses good & nutrition and even housekeeping!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

READ THIS.... the staff at CMC- Main.... nurses, nurse assistants, dietary, charge nurses, PT (esp. Sarah), OT, environmental, PAs, the young volunteer guy, social worker, and anyone else associated with the 9th Tower Neurosurgery floor has probably been the best medical team I've ever had. They worked together and omgosh if they didn't work hard to make sure the patient's stay was amazing. Positive and encouraging environment where you really feel you matter.
