Great location & customer service – I've worked on a Continental Airlines for 6 years & come to Salem twice a year & always enjoy my stay at the Clippership Inn & always recommened my coworkers to staying at the Clippership because of the great location & customer service. You could walk into town but after the long day of sight seeing, I recommend taking a cab back. The rooms are great & the staff are always friendly & helpful.
Very clean, we got the family suite even thou its was just the two of us and was very roomy. The staff was accommodating-we were traveling with a car motorcycle and trailer they switch our room so we could be on the bottom floor on the end with our vehicles. Mini mart-liquor store-resturants very close. Its almost a 15 min walk to downtowm Salem which wasn't bad if you don't mind walking. And can't forget Salem and Queenie the welcome commitee which are the cats who live there :)
The front desk staff have always been very helpful, and know the area well. If you don't want to walk to town, they can recommend a cab, or will call one for you. There aren't a lot of frills -- it's a basic motel -- but the rooms are clean, the beds have good mattresses, the heaters/ac units always work, and they're very costume friendly. The suites have refrigerators and microwaves, which are useful too. And they've just put in wifi (get the password from the front desk) which is the icing on a very satisfactory cake.
The Clipper Ship Inn is a great place to stay for those who want to spend their hard earned dollars on having fun rather than a place to sleep. The staff was friendly and well informed about restaurants and attractions. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

I have stayed at the Clippership Inn many times for business as well as pleasure. It is affordable, close to a major highway, and good amenities. The staff has always been very pleasant and helpful.
Had a great time – I stayed here from July 9th to July 13th and had a great time. The staff was really nice and very helpful. They always made sure everything was ok and we were happy. They also gave us ideas of things we need to see and places to go eat at. This place is about 1/2 hour walking into town. I did it everyday with my mother. If you want to take a taxi you can for 6$. Has everything you need – For years I've been trying to find an affordable place to stay in Salem, Mass. during the month of October. The Clipper Ship Inn is it! It is not luxurious, but it has everything you need, is clean, and close to all the Salem attractions. I (secretly) hope no one finds out!
